Arriving early at the Similan Islands gives you time to enjoy the beach beneath Sail Rock before it becomes busier. The morning light falls on soft white sand, clear turquoise water and the island's striking granite boulders. You can stroll along the shore, take photos or make your way towards the viewpoint for a look over the bay.
There is another reason we love the early morning: the chance of seeing a sea turtle. On our early bird trips, we have been lucky enough to spot them many times, though as wild animals, every sighting is a special surprise rather than a promise. Whether a turtle appears or not, a morning at Sail Rock is a lovely chance to slow down and enjoy the island.
Early Bird Speedboat to the Similan Islands
Start early and arrive at the Similan Islands while the day is still unfolding. As the speedboat approaches the shore, you'll see turquoise water, pale sand and the granite rocks that make these islands so memorable.
The early bird departure gives you the chance to explore some stops before the busiest part of the day. Take a walk along the beach, enjoy the view and make time for photos before continuing your island adventure. Arrival times and the order of stops may change with sea and weather conditions.
More Time to Enjoy Sail Rock
One of the loveliest moments of an early bird trip to the Similan Islands is arriving at the beach beneath Sail Rock. In the morning light, the white sand, clear turquoise water and enormous granite boulders make a beautiful first impression. Take a leisurely walk along the shore, find a spot to sit and look out across the Andaman Sea, or walk towards the viewpoint to see the bay from above.
The pleasure of an early arrival is having time to experience the island at your own pace: some guests head straight for the water, while others prefer to explore the beach. Visitor numbers and the time available at this stop vary with the day's itinerary, sea conditions and weather.
Early Bird Similan Tour for German-Speaking Guests
Beim Straugbinger Khao Lak Tour has designed this Early Bird program especially for German-speaking guests. Our group is limited to a maximum of 36 guests—we do not add more people beyond that number.
A Thai guide who speaks German well and knows the sea accompanies the group. You can ask questions and hear about the places you visit in German while enjoying an early start to the Similan Islands. The program also includes three snorkeling stops, rather than the usual two. Snorkeling locations may change according to the weather and sea conditions.

A whole new view of the Similan Islands awaits beneath the water. Coral formations stretch across the seabed while small fish move through the reef—an underwater scene you can pause to admire during our snorkeling stops.

The View from Sail Rock
Sail Rock is one of the most memorable viewpoints on the Similan Islands. After making your way up the rocky path, the view opens across a sheltered bay and the Andaman Sea: close to shore the water glows turquoise, farther out it turns a deeper blue, framed by granite boulders and green hills.
Take a moment at the viewpoint to look beyond the beach below, where you can appreciate the shape of the coastline and the colors of the sea in a way you cannot see from the shore. It's a beautiful place to pause and take photographs before heading back down to the beach.
